This course will cover how to do flush settings, which is the practice of setting stones flush with the metal for a seamless look. This technique is more successful with smaller, rather than larger, stones so we will work primarily with small faceted round gems, 1.5mm to 4mm in size.   We will also discuss modifications on various flush settings . Basic metalsmithing or jewelry making skills are necessary for this workshops, such as those that would be covered in an introductory  “Jewelry 101” class.   The instructor will provide the necessary small, round faceted gemstones for setting; a limited amount of sterling tubing, half round and flat wire; and all tools needed. Students are welcome to  bring in their own small round faceted stones but should refrain from bringing larger stones or stones of other than round faceted shapes.

Instructor will provide materials.

About the instructor: Joy has been an instructor at LexArt for many years.
