Meditation at Canyonlands

This piece was hand built using textures and stretching of the clay. I use alternative firing techniques - Western Raku with a copper glaze. The base is wood. Each piece is a unique creation, never to be duplicated,

When I visited Utah several years ago, I was humbled and impressed by the vastness and colors of the rock formations. Meditating in front of an arch in the morning light, left me breathless. This piece is a representation of how this arch affected me: spiritually, emotionally and physically. The colors are different - the feeling is the same.
