Using the new Mudflat soda kiln, I have been exploring the use of flashing slips and underglaze brushwork on old and new forms. Work is wheel-thrown and then altered. Flashing slips interact with the soda introduced into the kiln during firing, without the addition of glazes, to enhance the exterior.
