Fiber Jewelry by Jodi Colella
July 6, 8, 13 and 15 6:30-8:30 pm
4 sessions on Zoom
Work in groups with individual instruction on your projects.
Make fiber jewelry using embroidery, weaving, wrapping, beading…. We’ll repurpose clothing, fabrics, novelty fibers, wire and found objects and thransform them into enchanting charms that can embellish a necklace or work as mini sculptures. We will cover how to create all sorts of chains to hang them from too!
Here is a description of what to expect:
The format of the class is very flexible accommodating each student’s learning style and objective. This is a fun way to try out a multitude of techniques and to look at materials in a new way.
The perfect antidote to the doldrums!
-The workshop consists of 5 instructional videos that are sent ahead of time. They are very comprehensive outlines of how to do technique and inspiration for you to adapt your own too.
-These are followed up with 4, 2-hour Zoom sessions with live demos, Q&A’s, and sharing.
-There will be a private Facebook Page only for us to share our work, review videos, exchange info… and I will be visiting daily to answer any questions that arise. The videos will be accessible for 6 months after the workshop too.
- Videos can be shared in a private Google Doc for those who don’t like Facebook.
-The materials list is modest and most of what we use can be found around the house.
