3 Online sessions, Tuesdays 7:30PM to 9:30 PM
March 16, 2021 - March 23, 2021 - March 30, 2021
Do you have family photos, landscapes, action shots, nature photos, product images, or photos of artwork that could use some help? Have you ever wanted to replace the sky in a photo, change the background to another color, or merge several photos together to create a collage? Photo editing with Adobe Photoshop, one of the most popular image editing tools used by professionals, can help you take your images to the next level.
Although Photoshop is a large, complex program, this workshop will give you an introduction to a subset of features that will allow you to get started doing productive work without feeling overwhelmed. The skills we will cover include adjusting color and lighting, touching up a portrait, removing unwanted objects or spots from a photo, lifting an object out of a photo for reuse, making composites by combining multiple images together, enhancing images with textures, and adding text and graphics to an image. This workshop is appropriate for complete beginners.
In each session, students will be introduced to several new concepts and then work on sample projects to practice the skills. Sample photos will be provided for the projects, but students will also have the opportunity to work on their own projects between sessions. These homework assignments will be reviewed at the beginning of sessions 2 and 3.
To participate in the class, students will need to purchase and install the most recent version of Adobe Photoshop 2021 or download a free trial version. The Adobe Photography Plan is one of the most economical ways to purchase Photoshop (https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/photography.html#photography-mini-plans).
Class recordings are provided for reference.
