Get ready to submit your art portfolio for college!
This is a six-week comprehensive course on portfolio development for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in pursuing a college degree in the arts. We will cover different development strategies, technical skills (including photographing and reproducing your work), and what colleges are specifically looking for in student portfolios. This is a hands’ on course, and you’ll share your evolving portfolio with the instructors and your peers for feedback. By the end of the course, your portfolio should be ready to go, and you’ll have learned a set of foundational skills for your art career.
Our teaching team includes professional artist and photographer Roan Callahan, who also teaches at the Middlesex School, and Christine Wang, an undergraduate currently enrolled at Rhode Island School of Design (who has recent first-hand experience with exactly what you’re going through!) In addition to the weekly class sessions, both Roan and Christine will offer regular office hours for individual advising.
This course is designed for students who have artwork that is completed ready to be compiled.
