Exploring the World of Fibers 2026 , launching our gallery schedule for 2026, this exhibit will explore the broad range of work being created by regional fiber artists and traditional and contemporary weavers. Building on the transition of the LexArt Weavers Guild into the Weaving and Fiber Arts studio, our efforts at broader public engagement and access, and marks our third biennial fiber exhibition. Please join us as we celebrate and showcase fiber arts from New England and throughout the region. The exhibit will be juried by Paula B. Richter , curator at large, Peabody Essex Museum.   The show will be displayed in our Molly Harding Nye Gallery, an outstanding museum-style exhibition space. It's Human Rights Day :)  Today - December 10, 2025,  is the 77th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights!  The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)  is a milestone document adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1948 and it lays out our fundamental human  rights to be universally protected.  Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Bojagi (보자기) is the Korean traditional embroidery, costumes, and wrapping cloths, which are very interesting modes of expression in dye textiles and embroidery work varied according to family custom and use. The bold freedom from self-consciousness that suppresses personal desires, restraint , exaggeration, and hidden humor in the textile art of Korean women includes infinite beauty and mystery. Opening Reception: Oct 16, 6-8pm Housing Round Table: Oct 30, 5-7pm LexHAB ‘HOME’ Fundraiser: Oct 23, 6-8:30pm LexHAB , an affordable housing organization, and LexArt, announce the 2nd biennial Home  exhibition is meant to call attention to the issue of affordable housing and help raise funds to support LexHAB’s mission to provide and implement alternatives for the provision of affordable, safe and housing for low and moderate income households HOME  will focus on the theme of ‘home’ and the role of housing in our lives. Whether it is a physical place or an idea, ‘home’ can mean something different at each stage of life and varies by culture and geography. Housing as shelter is a universal human need that is inaccessible for too many, locally and globally. A shelter is a need, a house can be a haven, a nest can be empty, a home can be inhabitable: climate change, income inequality, racism, violence, love, community, and family are just a few of the factors that impact our concept of home and our ability to attain and maintain a home. All submitted works of art share this perspective on the notion of ‘home’. For more information about LexHAB  click here Juror: Anne Marie Stein Anne Marie Stein is an arts, education and small business administrator and photographer with a specialty in media arts. She is currently Vice President of Most Stuff at Winikur Productions, a production company specializing in media for museums and visitor centers, She also serves as co-chair of the Newton Cultural Council, as a member of the Newton Historical Commission, and programs a series of local films and work-in-progress by independent filmmakers at the West Newton Cinema. She was previously Dean of Professional and Continuing Education at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and also Executive Director of the Boston Film/Video Foundation. She has also worked on documentaries as co-producer/co-director and executive director. As a photographer, she has been documenting the phenomenon of tear downs in Newton ( www.upscalenewton.com ) and has a collection of photographs of the first generation of video artists at the Kandinsky Library at the Pompidou Center in Paris, France. This exhibition offers a glimpse into their personal artistic journeys, providing insight into the processes and explorations that inform their teaching. Come celebrate with us and explore what our amazing instructors have created.

This exhibition showcasing collaborative pieces created by participant pairs. The artwork will highlight the unique skills of each individual, their shared sense of playfulness, and their ability to effectively collaborate and respond to their partner's creative input during the design and fabrication process. he premier ceramics exhibit in the state of Mass!     The State of Clay is a juried show open to original, innovative ceramic work by current and former residents of Massachusetts or those with close ties to Massachusetts. The aim of the show is to broaden public awareness of contemporary ceramic art and to provide a venue for Massachusetts’ clay artists.
