Ode to Fornasetti
c.57" long x 13" deep x 31" tall
This is an ode to Piero Fornasetti, the Milanese artist who dazzled the mid-20th century with his drawings and paintings. Fornasetti frequently applied his art to furniture; he was whimsical and his furniture reflected that whimsy. This console is painted to look like architecture. Mr. Fornasetti's studio produced lots of pieces -- credenzas, tables, umbrella stands -- that had architectural features such as arches, columns and windows. Anne Hunter painted each archway on this piece to include a door and windows, enhancing this mid century storage piece so that it's a real eye-catcher!
