I made this work when I started questioning how to effectively let material dictate its own form. I developed a glaze that works similarly to expansion foam to allow the material more agency in addition to a highly fluxed colored clay that I had been using to glue pre-fired pieces together. The textural elements of this work remind me of a field trip I took growing up.
