Description

The pattern for this class will be the Pekka Jacket from Foldline, a lined, Japanese-inspired jacket featuring very generous pockets. This pattern is designed with lots of ease and can be made in a longer mid-thigh length or as a shorter jacket. A sample will be available to try on in a women’s size medium to large. The pattern is printed in bust sizes from 32 to 46. 

Prequesites:

Basic sewing machine skills, pattern layout, and pattern cutting experience required. Your choice of fabric must be purchased and prewashed before the first class. 

Materials

A $12 materials fee for the printed pattern will be collected by the instructor at the beginning of the class.

Also, students should buy on their own the materials listed here. A 20% discount on materials purchased at Fabric Corner at 783 Mill St., Arlington MA is available.  Please mention that your purchase is for Cheryl Moreau’s class.

Additional notes:

Your choice of fabric must be purchased and prewashed before the first class.  Contact the teacher with ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT PURCHASING MATERIALS. 

This class will take place Wednesday evenings from 6pm until 8:30pm on January 19th, February 2, February 16th, and March 2nd.

About the instructor: 

Cheryl Moreau teaches sewing and textile arts at HATCH, Watertown’s Maker’s Space, sponsored by the Watertown Free Library; see the website http://www.watertownlib.org/hatch.  In January 2022 she will also teach at LexArt Sewing Studio, a new sewing and textile education program for this organization, see the website https://www.lexart.org/. Special interests include textile history, knitting, fabric printing, and designing with everyday objects and scrap materials.
