My work often includes imagery such as hills, birds, clotheslines with laundry, and plants. I enjoy using the sgraffito technique, which is almost like reverse drawing. What was once a white plate becomes totally covered with a black slip, and then the images are revealed by carving away the black slip to bring out the white porcelain underneath.
