The second piece in the two-part Rebirth & Reemergence set is the Copper Butterfly Pendant. Here the butterfly is seen getting ready to fly free from its cage.

The near constant anxiety at the thought of leaving my nest, my pod, or my yard has also left me perpetually on the edge of the cage - that is the whole heart and soul of this piece.

The copper jewel-style pendant is hand-pierced copper riveted to the backplate (which is signed). The emergent butterfly is riveted on a pedestal to give it height and dimension - (but still make the piece wearable). The hand-pierced butterfly features an antique butterfly design, hand-colored with china and enamel paints, with the addition of dimensional reflective glass dots at the bottom of the wings.

The 30" chain is sterling silver, darkened intentionally to give the pattern some additional depth, the clasp is handmade.

If selected, the two pieces can be mounted in a frame to be shown on a wall, or with an easel to stand on a table.
