Advanced Wood Carving Birds with Jane Layton

Note: This class is for students who have previously taken "Wood Carving Birds with Jane Layton."

Description: 

Existing morning students will continue working on a wide variety of birds. Attention to the unique features of each species will be highlighted.  Students will continue to improve their carving, painting, and texturing skills, and as always safe use of hand tools will be emphasized. This class is a continuation for students already in the morning class. 

Materials: 

A $5 material kit containing a cut out of the bird, eyes, and a diagram will be provided. Students may reimburse the instructor at the start of class.

About the instructor: 

Jane Layton loves creating art from wood.  Her areas of focus are mainly bird carving and bowl turning. She often perches a bird on the rim of a bowl so she can enjoy both disciplines. Jane has won many awards for her bird carvings. Her birds are in public and private collections worldwide.
