Designed for intermediate and advanced woodworkers, this workshop delves into the technique of bending wood through layered lamination. Under expert guidance, students will navigate from wood selection and veneer preparation to mastering the lamination process. The culmination is a beautifully curved coat hanger, showcasing the elegance and strength of this method. By the course's end, participants will possess not only a self-made laminated coat hanger but also a richer understanding of this limitless woodworking technique.
Note: All materials for this class will be provided.
Prerequisites: Students should have taken an introductory woodworking class, or have the equivalent experience.
About the instructor: Joe works with wood because of its variety in species and technical possibilities as well as its challenges. A large part of his process is researching and experimenting with new and obscure techniques while relying on time-honored traditions. He enjoys pushing boundaries in both design and construction while working towards his own unique aesthetic and vision.
