Description:Â
This class will provide you with the foundations of good clay working skills. Â Wheel throwing techniques such as centering and making a bowl, from start to finish. Â Â
Demonstrations, individual critiques, and lots of hands-on time will engage students in learning the basics of wheel throwing and hand-building. Â For students with more experience, the class can accommodate you as well providing more techniques.Â
Students will have access to Open Studio to continue their work on Wednesday nights.Â
If a younger student is interested in the class, please contact the office before registering.Â
Materials fee:
An $85 clay and firing Fee will be separately invoiced to students.
About the instructor:Â
Marc Mancuso is a maker, teacher, and thinker who welcomes minutiae, experiments with processes, and pushes materials to extremes. As a ceramics educator for nearly 25 years, Marc still looks forward to discovering better modes of communicating with students and other teachers. He is keenly interested in finding the nuanced sentiment, a useful reference, or the right technique that propels someone forward. He works and teaches in several studios around the Boston area.
