Description:Â
This class will provide you with the foundations of good clay working skills if you are new to working with clay, and help teach you new techniques if you are more experienced. Â The instructor will provide demonstrations, individual critiques, and lots of hands-on time for students. You will be engaged in wheel throwing and hand building activities that help you learn and develop essential clay skills. For example, students will learn the process of centering and making a bowl, from start to finish.
Materials:
A studio fee, clay fee, and firing fee are all included in tuition. Tools are not included. Additional notes:
-Students will have access to Open Studio to continue their work on Wednesdays from 2pm to 5pm.Â

About the instructor:Â
Marc Mancuso is a maker, teacher, and thinker who welcomes minutiae, experiments with processes, and pushes materials to extremes. As a ceramics educator for nearly 25 years, Marc still looks forward to discovering better modes of communicating with students and other teachers. He is keenly interested in finding the nuanced sentiment, a useful reference, or the right technique that propels someone forward. He works and teaches in several studios around the Boston area.
