Description

Beyond snapshots: This class will show you how to use your iPhone or digital camera as a tool to create original artwork. You will learn a range of techniques for creating abstract, otherworldly, and painterly images. We'll start by exploring how to construct effective close-up abstract images. Then, we'll have fun with intentional motion blur by photographing moving objects and learning to move our cameras to create different unique effects. There will also be opportunities to shoot through different types of glass to make fascinating distortions, shapes, and patterns. We'll end by learning to create multiple exposures.

For this class you can bring any type of digital camera, an iPhone camera, or both! The first session will be an hour and a half online lecture. The second session, on Saturday, will be 3 hours, in-studio at LexArt. You will have an opportunity to practice and play with each of the techniques covered during the class in a room full of set ups, with the help of the instructor and your classmates.

For more info, please see this video.

Materials List: Participants will need to provide materials listed here.

Note: Zoom information will be provided prior to the class. If you cannot attend the virtual lecture, a recording will be provided before the second class.
