Drawing FUNdamentals: Drawing from Photos with Susan McFarlane

Description: 

In this session bring your own photos and learn what to keep, what to dismiss, and what marks to make. Turn your photos into drawings in preparation for a painting, or a finished drawing. Search for proportion, angles, shape and shading. Have FUN moving beyond the camera making your mark.. 

Note: Classes will be held on July 5, 12, 26, Aug 2, 9, 16

Materials: 

Students should bring the following supplies:

• 2B, 4B, 2H pencils
• kneaded eraser
• white vinyl eraser
• drawing paper
• photo references
• other drawing materials as desired

About the instructor:

Susan is orgininally from Massachusetts but for thirty years she lived in Utah, Oregon, New Jersey, and Virginia before moving to Reading, MA. Susan earned a B.S. in Design from Brigham Young University, a Post Baccalaureate Certificate from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and a Museum Studies Master’s Degree from Harvard Extension. In addition, she is a Certified Zentagle® Teacher. Her artwork has been shown in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia.
