Explore Oil Pastels and/or Oil Sticks

Description: Participants will learn techniques to use with vibrant oil pastels and paint sticks. Both materials are solvent free and there is no toxic dust to worry about.  Both allow a sense of freedom and directness in working.

Being free to put your marks on paper or canvas gives a sense of joy to the artist. There is no need for a laborious underpainting or drawing.

Students can freely express themselves. Drawing will be emphasized.

Notes:

-There will no class on March 25th. The dates for this class are as follows: March 4th, March 11th, March 18th, April 1st, and April 8th.

About the instructor: Dianne Levine has been a practicing artist and teacher for more than 60 years. Her work has been seen across the US, and Japan Landscape is her greatest love. Working with pastels  and oilsticks is her latest passion. Over the years she has worked with sculpture, jewelry, oils and acrylics, but pastels always draw her back. Teaching has been a lifelong desire to share her knowledge and joy.
