Intro to Wire Jewelry with Dawna Davis

Description: 

This is a class for beginners.  We will cover all aspects of silver, gold-filled and Parawire wire; tools and beginning techniques.  We will practice these techniques and then make a pair of earrings or a pendant.  You will be given handouts as well as lots of time for questions.

Note:

-You can bring tools or they will be provided to use during class.

-Several types of ear wires will be available.

-Chains for pendants will be available for purchase.

-Children 12 and up may attend with a guardian.

About the instructor: 

Dawna Davis is a wire artist living and working in Fort Point, Boston.  She weaves, knits and twists wire into hats, gloves, bowties, neck sculptures and wire attire that make novel statements about clothing and jewelry.  Her art also focuses on racial and environmental justice.  A longtime educator and trainer, Dawna teaches both private and group wire classes in her studio.
