Think plain weave is boring? Not really! This workshop will explore the plain weaves and related structures. We will also explore the effects of color, fiber thickness, and sheen. The workshop will have looms set up with examples and then I will turn you loose to weave on each loom. At the end of the workshop, you will walk away with a sample set that includes everything we’ve talked about. This course is meant for anyone with a beginner’s knowledge of weaving that includes setting up a loom, and reading a draft.
The materials fee will be invoiced and sent by email to the students
Yarn, looms, and handouts will be supplied.
About the instructor:
Jerilyn Henoid is a weaver who creates work with mostly hand dyed Tencel and Bamboo yarn. Her pieces explore the interaction between color and structure, as she uses computers to explore many different warp colors and weave structures before creating her own unique textiles.
Jerilyn is a member of The Weaver's Guild of America, Weaver's Guild of Boston, and LexArt’s own Weaving and Fiber Arts Guild. She is a passionate educator with experience teaching weaving courses and private lessons.
