Spring Landscape and Botanical Painting with Watercolors with Corry Buckwalter

Description:

Explore the colors of spring landscapes and botanicals in watercolor painting! We will practice the fundamental techniques of watercolor painting with a particular focus on creating compelling color combinations. Study the signs of spring and create expressive interpretations of nature in this fun and supportive class. We will work from photographs and as well as found botanical objects. Subjects will include New England’s varied landscapes, faraway places and one’s own backyard. Some drawing experience is helpful but drawing exercises will be taught in each session. Beginning and continuing students are welcome.

About the instructor: 

Corry Buckwalter is a visual artist, educator and landscape designer based in Arlington, MA. Her artwork explores ecology, land use and botanical subjects. Corry teaches botanical art, Japanese ink painting, mindful drawing and watercolor landscape painting at multiple art and community centers located in Arlington, Lexington, and Newton, MA, as well as, online. In her classes, Corry nurtures creativity through inclusive and supportive instruction. Her belief that art-making is a catalyst for personal growth and community-building has grown from her extensive experience teaching adult learners of all abilities.
