Stained Glass 101 with Margaret Stevens

Description: 

This is a beginner friendly course that will have the student completing all the steps necessary to take home a stained glass suncatcher. The student will cut, grind, wrap foil, solder, patina and wax their project. There will be several patterns available to choose from and many colorful pieces of beautiful stained glass to use.

Note:

-Stained glass solder is comprised of 60% tin and 40% lead. Lead can be harmful if ingested, so proper hand washing is recommended before eating and drinking. Safety glasses and gloves may be worn as well.

-Copper foil is used in this class.

About the instructor: 

Margaret Stevens graduated with BFA in Fine Arts from Edinboro University. Pursued various design related jobs from sign making to retail visual art displays. Always creating at home via quilting, home renovations and volunteering for events. Took a stained glass course in 2016 and opened my Etsy shop, Graphix Glass in 2017. Quit full time job at end of 2019 to make stained glass art full time. Joined LexArt in 2022. Sell my creation through Etsy, Lexart, craft fairs and commissions.
