Description

This is a beginner friendly course that will have the students completing all the steps necessary to take home a stained glass fall suncatcher. The students will cut & grind the glass, wrap it with copper foil tape, solder the pieces together, patina and wax their project. There will be several patterns available to choose from and many colorful pieces of beautiful stained glass to create your beautiful fall suncatcher.


Note:

-Stained glass solder is comprised of 60% tin and 40% lead. Lead can be harmful if ingested, so proper hand washing is recommended before eating and drinking. Safety glasses and gloves may be worn as well.


-This class uses copper foil.


About the instructor: 

Margaret Stevens graduated with BFA in Fine Arts from Edinboro University. She pursued various design related jobs from sign making to retail visual art displays. Margaret was always creating at home via quilting, home renovations and volunteering for events. She took a stained glass course in 2016 and opened her Etsy shop, Graphix Glass in 2017 (www.graphixglass.com). She quit her full time job at end of 2019 to make stained glass art full time, and joined LexArt in 2022. She sells her creations through Etsy, Lexart, craft fairs and commissions.
