Stained Glass Holiday Ornament with Margaret Stevens

Description: 

In this beginner friendly copper foil class, students will make a decorative stained glass holiday 

ornament to take home, just in time for the holidays. Students will be able to choose from a variety of designs 

and many different kinds of beautiful stained glass. They will learn the basic copper foil skills 

to create a stained glass ornament from start to finish. If there is extra time at the end of the class,

students will be able to add extra decorative elements with solder and wire.  All materials are included.

Note:

-Stained glass solder is comprised of 60% tin and 40% lead. Lead can be harmful if ingested, so proper hand washing is recommended before eating and drinking. Safety glasses and gloves may be worn as well.

-Copper foil is used in this class.

About the instructor: 

Margaret Stevens graduated with BFA in Fine Arts from Edinboro University. She pursued various design related jobs from sign making to retail visual art displays, and was always creating at home via quilting, home renovations and volunteering for events. After taking a stained glass course in 2016, Margaret opened her Etsy shop, Graphix Glass, in 2017. She quit her full time job at end of 2019 to make stained glass art full time. Margaret joined LexArt in 2022, and started teaching in fall 2024 to share the joy of stained glass. She sells her creations through Etsy, LexArt, craft fairs and commissions.
