Stained Glass Origami Crane with Margaret Stevens

Description: 

Come and create a 3D Origami Crane in beautiful stained glass!

Students will choose their glass, cut out the shapes and wrap each piece in copper foil tape. Then using a template, they will learn how to assemble the pieces into a 3D Origami Crane. They will also add hanging rings so their crane can be hung up in their home or sit on a desk or shelf. 

Note:

-Stained glass solder is comprised of 60% tin and 40% lead. Lead can be harmful if ingested, so proper hand washing is recommended before eating and drinking. Safety glasses and gloves may be worn as well.

-Copper foil is used in this class.

About the instructor: 

Margaret Stevens graduated with BFA in Fine Arts from Edinboro University. Pursued various design related jobs from sign making to retail visual art displays. Always creating at home via quilting, home renovations and volunteering for events. Took a stained glass course in 2016 and opened my Etsy shop, Graphix Glass in 2017. Quit full time job at end of 2019 to make stained glass art full time. Joined LexArt in 2022. Sell my creation through Etsy, Lexart, craft fairs and commissions.
