Description: 

In this class, students will make a stained glass ornament to take home to decorate your tree or window. Students will be able to choose from a variety of designs and kinds of glass. They will learn the basic skills to create a stained glass ornament from start to finish. Decorative wire work and solder work will be added if time allows. All materials are included. 

Note: Stained glass solder is comprised of 60% tin and 40% lead. Lead can be harmful if ingested, so proper hand washing is recommended before eating and drinking. Safety glasses and gloves may be worn as well.

About the instructor: 

Margaret Stevens graduated with BFA in Fine Arts from Edinboro University. She pursued various design related jobs from sign making to retail visual art displays. Margaret was always creating at home via quilting, home renovations and volunteering for events. She took a stained glass course in 2016 and opened her Etsy shop, Graphix Glass in 2017 (www.graphixglass.com). She quit her full time job at end of 2019 to make stained glass art full time, and joined LexArt in 2022. She sells her creations through Etsy, Lexart, craft fairs and commissions.
