Description: This intensive class is a great introduction or reintroduction to using the sensuous medium of soft pastel and the subject matter of still life and landscape. Learn some color theory, mixing techniques, and traditional and experimental approaches to applying the medium. All skill levels are welcome. Some drawing experience is required. Critiques and historical references will be used.

Note: This class will be held on the following seven dates: March 29, April 12, April 26, May 10, May 17, May 24,  and June 14. 

Materials: Bring a throw away towel. Other materials for the class can be purchased here

Prerequisites: Some drawing experience. 

About the instructor: Jill M. Pottle is an accomplished artist from Worcester County who exhibits her paintings and drawings locally and nationally. She graduated from Syracuse University with her BFA, and received her MFA from the Boston Museum School. Her work is featured in many collections, including Danforth Art Museum, and she has shown in many galleries including The Three Stones Gallery in West Concord, and the East End Gallery in Provincetown. She is currently a member of the Fountain Street Gallery in Boston and the Trumpet Gallery of Fine Arts in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Jill has taught art for 38 years.
