Weaving 101 & Beyond with Krysten Morganti

Six Sessions, Tuesdays (6:30PM-8:30PM), and Saturdays (2:00 PM- 5:00 PM)

Description: 

Kick off your fall learning a new skill! This class will take you through designing a first weaving project, loading a floor loom, and weaving up your first piece. You'll learn your way around our weaving studio as you use our looms and equipment, and leave with the know-how to warp a loom and weave fabric on your own. This course is designed for students with no weaving experience, but more advanced students may discuss an intermediate project with the instructor to find the right level of challenge. All materials and reference handouts provided - just bring your own two hands and your creative spirit!

Materials fee:

A $25 materials fee will be paid to the instructor at the start of class.

Note: 

-This class takes place on the following six dates: October 4th, October 14th, October 18th, October 21st, October 25th, and October 28th.

-Tuesday classes run from 6:30PM to 8:30PM, and Saturday classes run from 2PM to 5PM.

-While looms are provided for this class, if you would like to bring your own loom you may. Please contact the instructor (at krysten.morganti@lexart.org) to ensure the loom you have is appropriate for the class.

About the instructor: 

Krysten Morganti loves weaving and spinning with every color and especially enjoys the challenge of working with reclaimed materials.

She works with vintage and antique looms and spinning wheels that she restores to working conditions in her barn in Concord, Massachusetts.

Krysten is a compulsive teacher and lifelong learner, and may be responsible for getting hundreds of folks hooked on weaving and spinning.
