Description:

In this workshop students will learn how to wet felt their very own wearable mittens. They will create their own personalized template, learn about wool shrinkage, and experience different fiber types. In this workshop they will come to understand wet felting basics, from laying out the fiber, working with a resist to create three dimensional wearables, as well as the physical felting process.

Wet felting is time consuming, tactile and very involved - so come prepared to rock and roll (literally). Elbow grease is required! Like all things that take effort, the payoff is very rewarding, and students will leave with a beautiful pair of mittens that will last forever. Open to all skill levels.

About the instructor:

Chelsea Brown is an avid fiber artist specializing in needle and wet felting. She has been teaching for over five years and has made it her life's mission to share her love of wool with the world. 

She loves combining her artistic passion with other cool and awesome things that she likes. Anime, video games, pop culture, and animals are places from which she regularly draws inspiration. 

Recently her work has blended with her passion for conservation. A percentage of many of her works often goes to the animals that she so loves. 

When she's not teaching, she's making art, vending at a variety of markets, accidentally burning herself with hot glue, or eating noodles.
