Calls for Artists: Future: Illustrated
Arlington Center for the Arts
Calling all sequential artists and digital illustrators whose work imagines future worlds! Whether you create hand-drawn comic strips, digitally-render fantasy worlds, sculpt the characters of your comic book, or develop architectural renderings which envision new ways to organize our communities: Arlington Center for the Arts wants to dream with you!
We are looking for graphic/stylized illustrators to exhibit with us. This dynamic & forward-thinking show seeks to balance the breadth and complexity of emotions one has when looking into the future– balancing anxieties with hope, and fantasies with action. Submitted works can speak to one or all of these issues, in a variety of mediums & styles.
For this call, we are asking artists to submit works that speak to envisioning the future with thoughtful mastery of their artistic voice and technique.
We encourage those from marginalized groups to apply. We highly encourage stories of climate optimism, BIPOC futures, exploring science/innovation, queer narratives, integration of data/research, as well as all things sci-fi and surreal. Tales of caution and hope are all valid!
