Description:

Create your own clothing from materials that would otherwise be sent to a landfill!

In this class we will learn about the enormous toll the fashion industry takes on the environment and approach fashion design through a more sustainable lens. Learn the basics of patternmaking as well as hand and machine sewing techniques to create apparel without excess waste. Together we will deconstruct old, unwanted clothing to use as a material source to make a bucket hat and then creatively use the remaining material to make a fashion item of your choice. All skill levels welcome!

Materials: Students come to class with some of their own materials. Materials students should bring for this class are listed here.

Note: This class takes place October 14th and October 21st.
