Description:  In this one day beginner workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of forming their own decorative spoon. We will go over sawing, filing, raising, sinking, riveting, and creating a textured or smooth finish. Each student will leave with a handmade copper or brass decorative spoon. You will also have the option to tin your spoon if you would like it to be used for eating.

About the instructor: Kylie Weinzierl is a Boston area interdisciplinary artist, with a primary focus in metalsmithing, a background in sound art, multimedia installation and fabrication, as well as glass work, textile, and performance. Kylie received a Bachelor of the Arts from Arizona State University in 2019, and a Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in February 2024. Kylie is the Assistant Director of the TILL Wave Art Gallery in Watertown, the head Jewelry Instructor at Stonybrook Metal Arts & Sculpture School in Jamaica Plain, and is also the Metals Studio Manager at LexArt.
