Eligible Media – All Painting mediums (including pastel), drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media and collage are welcome. -AI generated art will not be considered for jurying. $1500 of Prizes will be awarded from the Lee Ferrara bequest. Juror - The exhibit will be juried by Madeline Lord, a multidisciplinary artist who has been focused on sculptures made of scrap metal for the last 30 years. Her public installations include “Revolutionary figures” installed at Fort Washington Park, Cambridge MA and a ten-foot giraffe installed at the Federal Reserve bank in Boston, MA. About the exhibit This Fall exhibition for 2023 will explore the broad range of work being created by regional artists. We welcome as participants, artists from LexArt and from Lexington, surrounding towns and New England. A Call to Artists – We are contacting you because you most likely know some quality artists that may be interested in exhibiting and selling their works at the Chatham Fine Arts Festival we are hosting. This show is not an average festival – vendors always comment on how successful this location has been for them. Highlights of why we chose this venue: As an award winning designer (Goldsmith vendor) at this location I have sold $2-5k per day of quality jewelry year after year. Proving that the visitors are willing to make substantial purchases. Free on-site parking lot. We are actively recruiting quality artists and crafts people to build an exciting display of works. The venue is located 2 feet from the side walk on the busiest street in town (Main Street). The festival is highly visible and accessible from the street and parking lot. Sandy beaches, quality restaurants, and unique shops draw people from surrounding areas. September is the biggest month for Chatham weddings which draws extra shoppers. Some of the finest inns are located in Chatham bringing visitors that wish to browse. Chatham has the highest median income on Cape Cod and has a large population of art loving residents. This is a great location to sell quality art or obtain commission work. Other fairs have been at this location for years - the parking lot is always full from visitors. Chatham police will be directing traffic and be on-site for overnight security. The event is listed by two major news sources (Cape Cod Times and The Enterprise) under local events. The event is listed on google local Chatham events and many other websites that show Cape Cod events. We will continue to market and heavily promote the event as the date approaches. We are contacting a few New England key people that are involved with art creation or have connections to the art community. Our goal is to reach a larger audience of talented individuals. We want artists and creators of unique works. We hope you can help connect us with some quality people. Although many of these artists have exhibited together and know their pieces speak to one another, the addition of a few new artists have joined to expand the conversation. Namhi Kim Wagner - Memorial Retrospective Ceramics Exhibition Jun 17 - Jul 1, 2023 | Reception Sat Jun 17 3-5pm Korean Cultural Society of Boston is pleased to present Namhi Kim Wagner’s Retrospective Exhibition in memory of her passing at the age of 99 in March 2023. The exhibition will feature delicate plates with vibrant stamped patterns, swelling jars encircled with floral carving, and large bowls overflowing with big happy fish and lotuses. Born in Korea, raised in Japan, and returning to Korea after her first marriage, Namhi lived through both World War II and the Korean War. Widowed at age 35 with three young children, she emigrated to the United States to work at the Harvard Yenching Library, later becoming the first Director of the Korean Language Program at Harvard. At age 48, she found her deep passion for ceramics. First studying briefly at the MIT Pottery Studio and then joining the Harvard Ceramics Program Studio (formerly Radcliffe), she was an artist-in-residence there from 1997-2004. Often teaching all day and staying up all night to master ceramic techniques, it was in rediscovering her own roots that led her to truly find her own voice. Here, her resilient spirit found expression in her modern interpretation of the dynamic yet playful style of 15-16th century Korean Buncheong ware. I discovered my own voice as well as my roots by exploring the expressive possibilities of the Korean Buncheong tradition in my pots. Buncheong could not be more Korean, down-to-earth, unpretentious, and exuberant. It is the unfettered spontaneity and rhythmic grace of Bungheong ware that I love most. Stamps are impressed randomly all over the surface and lines are incised freely. The patterns appear to be disorganized and yet they coalesce into a vibrant harmony. It warms my heart and makes me smile to look at some pieces that appear to be have been made by a child, so innocent charming and natural - Namhi Kim Wagner Always an educator, Namhi was also instrumental in sharing the rich history of Korean ceramics with the greater Boston community through her own entertaining presentations at major museums and studios and by acting as a translator for visiting artists. Her work has been exhibited in the United States, Europe, and Korea and is in the collections of the Harvard Museums and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Good morning to all beautiful artists, Shared joy is double joy; Shared sorrow is half a sorrow. The premise is simple, as human beings we are hardwired to be deeply empathetic. We may not be able to share the physical pain of the brave heart who is fighting the toughest fight against her/his body's cancer cells but with the help of angles like Ellen Eisner, we can show them a ray of hope that we are all thinking of them, keeping them in our prayers and doing our small part so that better treatments can be assured. Kind and super enthusiastic Ellen with her charming husband is organizing a fundraiser art event at their house for helping the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber cancer institute. The 57th National Mother Lode Art Exhibition Call to Artists is open! This show will be held this November at the Mills Station Arts and Culture Center (MACC) in Rancho Cordova, California; it is open to all artists, all mediums, all themes. Hope this message finds you well! I am part of the organizing committee for the Destination: Nature Juried Art Show, a show celebrating the arts and protected lands in the Town of Harvard. We have secured Olivia J. Stone, Assistant Curator at the Worcester Art Museum, as the juror and we have cash prizes totaling $1,300. This is a great opportunity for artist to submit. The premier ceramics exhibit in the state of Mass! The State of Clay is a juried show open to original, innovative ceramic work by current and former residents of Massachusetts or those with close ties to Massachusetts. The aim of the show is to broaden public awareness of contemporary ceramic art and to provide a venue for Massachusetts’ clay artists. This year's exhibit is juried by Liz Quackenbush from Seattle Washington. Liz is a professor Emeritus at Pennsylvania State University. The show is hosted by the LexArt Ceramics Guild in the Nye Gallery, Lexington MA, and with support from the Lexington Council of the Arts and Massachusetts Cultural Council.
